If you are a new T-Mobile consumer, soon after receiving your phone, you will want to activate voicemail. Voicemail is automatically included in your tariff plan, which will allow other people to leave messages for you if you cannot answer the call. The activation process needs to be performed only once, and the setup and activation of voicemail will only take a few minutes. Follow these instructions to learn how to activate voicemail in T-Mobile.

Your actions

Press and hold the “1” key on the phone. This will automatically dial the voicemail number of your account. If this does not work, call “123” to access your voicemail servers.

If you are setting up voicemail for the first time, listen to the instructions. If you are asked to enter a security code, enter the last four digits of your phone number.

Follow the directions to record your personal greeting or select a standard greeting that mentions your phone number.

Follow the instructions to set the security code for the voicemail box. You will need to enter this code every time you visit voicemail. This prevents unauthorized users from listening to messages left on your account. You can also disable entering the security code when entering voicemail by dialing # PWO # (# 796 #) on the phone and pressing “Submit”.

Make a call to your mobile phone from another phone to check if you have successfully set up voicemail.
